Purchase Tip

The 4 output of BNC impedance can be selected.

If your master clock input devices requires one for 50ohm and the rest 3 devices for 75ohm, you can take a memo when you proceed an order as “I need 1 output for 50 Ohm and the rest 3 outputs for 75 Ohm connector”

If you are not able to proceed the purchase, please simply email me to get some support.

Thank you.

SOtM sCLK-OCX10

The sCLK-OCX10 is a master clock generator that produces a high purity 10 MHz clock signal.

In digital audio devices, the clock signal acts as the heart of the product, a higher purity clock brings more accurate and better sound quality. However, the higher purity clocks also requires higher costs, therefore, a high-purity 10MHz clock, like a master clock, is not installed inside of the audio device but connected to the internal clock and synchronized by a master clock as the way to improve sound quality.

The sCLK-OCX10 is a specially designed product for high end audio equipment which brings all the benefits of master clocks that have been used primarily in recording studios and high performance audio. It could be the paramount digital device for audiophiles who want the best sound quality. It can be used with devices equipped with a BNC connector for their master clock input. For SOtM products, 10MHz master clock input connectors can be optionally added to products with the sCLK-EX installed such as the sMS-1000SQ, the sMS-200ultra, and the tX-USBultra can be used with the sCLK-OCX10.

sCLK OCX10 Bacon Review

As many audiophiles know, the clock signal is an angled square digital signal, but the sCLK-OCX10 produces a pure analog sine wave of 10 MHz, and this sinusoidal clock signal is the method adopted for the best clock performance because it produces significantly less noise than the angled square digital clock signal. In order to implement this, the sCLK-OCX10 consists of only analog circuitry which contains 10 years of know-how of SOtM, it derives high analog sound that is different from other master clocks on the market which output angled square digital clock signals.

Throughout all bandwidth, the sCLK-OCX10 produces a very delicate, smooth and natural sound without losing the inherent energy that every instrument has, especially in the mid-low bandwidths. It brings very clear and significant improvement which normally can be expected by the best analog devices, so with the sCLK-OCX10, you can experience not only music played by a system, but the essence and the artistry of the music’s heart. And such experience means absolute improvement that can be only achieved through SOtM’s technology rather than tweaking sound.

The sCLK-OCX10 has four outputs, and it can be used simultaneously with 4 BNC connectors for master clock input devices. Optionally, the output impedance can be set and selectable to 50 ohms or 75 ohms.

Phase Noise Graph of sCLK-OXC10

Click to check the sCLK-OCX10 _Phase noise graph or a fair comparison, the graph below was measured by the other company’s square wave OCXO.

The other company phase noise graph

The difference is about:

1Hz at about 30dB
10Hz about 8~9dB
100Hz about 10~11dB
1KHz about 8~9dB
10KHz about 6~7dB
100KHz about 7~8dB.

(it simply says that the sCLK-OCX10 is better)

About sCLK-OCX10 aging and accuracy

Per day after 30 days operating : ± 0.5ppb
Second year : ± 50ppb
Per year thereafter : ± 30ppb

50ohm or 75ohm

Normally 10MHz signal use 50 ohm cable. And word clock or SPDIF signal use 75 ohm cable.

If you want to connect audio signal or clock signal in long distance like CATV signal, 75 ohm is better.
But, for most cases, audio application is not needed to connect in long distances.
