Description
Velodyne DD‑18
- One of Velodyne’s flagship 18″ powered subwoofers, designed for deep, powerful bass in home theater and audiophile systems.
- Built with an 18-inch forward-firing driver, class-D amplifier delivering ~1250 W RMS (~3000 W peak) and servo control for low distortion and controlled cone movement.
- Frequency Response: typically ~14 Hz to 120 Hz ±3 dB — meaning very deep, room-shaking bass.
- Extensive EQ and control options (parametric EQ/crossover/phase adjustments), some setups even support computer calibration.
- Sizeable and heavy (often ~60–65 kg / ~140 lbs), so it’s a large installed subwoofer — ideal for dedicated home theater rooms.
• • Excellent choice if you want deep, visceral low-end and room-tuning flexibility for movies/music.
🛠️ Key Features Across Velodyne DD-18 Series
- Servo-controlled amplifier keeps distortion low and response tight, especially at high SPL.
- Adjustable crossovers (40–199 Hz range), variable phase and polarity, and advanced EQ make it very flexible for integration with different speaker systems.
- Supports balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs, often with additional outputs for daisy-chaining multiple subs.
- Comes with remote control and calibration microphone in many versions for fine-tuning in your room.
