Approximately 90% of the components used in the TA-2A3 are manufactured in Japan, while the entire production process is completed in Takatsuki’s own factory. Even the glass forming process is carried out internally, allowing the company to maintain close control over dimensional accuracy and manufacturing consistency.

Takatsuki TA-2A3 Construction Characteristics

Lead-Free Kovar Glass

The TA-2A3 uses lead-free Kovar glass manufactured and formed in-house. Approximately 1.0 mm thick, the glass is engineered to provide a stable and consistent envelope while withstanding the demanding temperatures encountered during operation.

Plate Structure

The plate is produced from a specially specified clad material consisting of three different metals. The material is then pressed using a dedicated mould to create a strong and mechanically stable structure.

Spring-Supported Filament

Carefully selected tungsten wire is used for the filament support springs. Each component is individually inspected to help maintain consistent tension and accurate positioning within the tube.

Filament

The filament core is produced from high-purity nickel sheet designed specifically for vacuum tube applications. Its construction is optimized for uniform heating and stable operation.

Precision Grid

The grid uses carefully selected tungsten material produced to extremely tight tolerances. Takatsuki specifies a diameter tolerance of within ±1μm and applies gold plating as part of its pursuit of improved quality and consistency.
