The Ferrum BROEN is a high-performance network streaming transport designed to deliver digital audio to a wide range of quality DACs with maximum signal integrity and system flexibility.

Powered by Volumio OS 4 and built around Ferrum’s newly developed SERCE Digital-to-Digital module, BROEN combines advanced streaming, galvanically isolated digital outputs, ultra-low-jitter clocking and extensive connectivity in one dedicated transport.

Made for Streaming

BROEN is Powered by Volumio, giving access to a broad streaming ecosystem without an additional subscription for the operating platform itself.

Supported services include Spotify and Spotify Connect, TIDAL and TIDAL Connect, Qobuz and Qobuz Connect, AirPlay, UPnP/DLNA, web radio, CD playback, multi-room playback and additional functionality through the Volumio plug-in store.

SERCE DDC – A Dedicated Digital Core

At the heart of the Ferrum BROEN is the newly developed SERCE DDC module, created specifically for digital-to-digital conversion and reclocking.

The streaming and control domain is kept separate from the output domain, while the digital audio outputs sit behind a galvanic isolation barrier to help prevent electrical noise from contaminating the downstream DAC.

Ferrum Streaming Control Technology

BROEN supports Ferrum Streaming Control Technology (FSCT), allowing seamless integration with compatible Ferrum DACs such as WANDLA and ERCO Gen 2.

When paired with a compatible Ferrum converter, track information can be displayed directly on the DAC screen, while playback can be controlled from the DAC touchscreen or remote control.

Designed for HYPSOS

BROEN performs as a complete streaming transport straight out of the box, but its power supply can be upgraded through the proprietary Ferrum Power Link (FPL).

When paired with HYPSOS, the system benefits from Ferrum’s 4TSD voltage-sensing architecture, allowing the external power supply to maintain optimal voltage at the component itself.

Flexible Network Connectivity

The Ferrum BROEN supports both wired and wireless networking. Dual-band Wi-Fi provides straightforward connection to the home network, while the SFP socket allows the use of the included RJ45 Ethernet module or an optional optical SFP module.

Optical network connectivity can provide additional electrical isolation between the network infrastructure and the audio system.

Internal SSD Storage

An internal M.2 NVMe SSD slot allows local music storage to be installed directly inside the unit. Compatible 80mm and 110mm drives can be used, with the SSD supplied separately by the user.
