Tsakiridis Devices Super Athena | 2500W Power Conditioner

Description

Tsakiridis Devices Super Athena Power Conditioner

The Tsakiridis Devices Super Athena is the flagship power conditioner of the Greek manufacturer, designed to provide clean, stable and protected mains power to demanding high-end audio systems.

Rather than relying on a single filtering method, Super Athena combines several complementary power-treatment technologies: a high-current mains filter, an isolation transformer for sensitive source components, power factor correction, surge and overvoltage protection, and a substantial power choke designed to preserve current delivery when amplifiers demand sudden bursts of energy.

Handcrafted in Greece, the Super Athena is intended for complete audio systems where digital sources, analogue front ends, preamplifiers and power amplifiers may have very different power requirements.

Clean Power Without Sacrificing Dynamics

One of the most important challenges for any audio power conditioner is reducing mains noise without restricting instantaneous current delivery. The Tsakiridis Devices Super Athena addresses this with a high-capacity architecture designed to combine filtering and protection with very low impedance to connected equipment.

The main filtering section is rated at 2500W and is designed to reduce unwanted interference present on the AC mains while keeping its influence on the power line itself as low as possible.

For power amplifiers and other components that can require high instantaneous current, Super Athena incorporates a powerful 4000W power choke. The choke behaves as an extremely low-impedance energy source, helping the system respond quickly when an amplifier requires a sudden current increase.

4000W Power Choke for High-Current Components

The large power choke is one of the defining features of Super Athena. Energy is stored magnetically and can be released rapidly when connected equipment demands additional current.

This approach is particularly relevant with power amplifiers, where conventional filtering networks can sometimes introduce unwanted current limitation. The Super Athena architecture is designed specifically to maintain dynamic capability while still providing effective mains conditioning.

800W Isolation Transformer for Source Components

Sensitive digital and analogue source components can benefit from additional electrical isolation. Super Athena therefore includes an 800W isolation transformer dedicated to supplying isolated power to suitable equipment.

Isolation can help reduce the transfer of mains-borne interference and unwanted electrical interaction between connected devices, making this section especially suitable for DACs, network streamers, CD transports, phono stages and preamplifiers.

The transformer is manufactured with the same emphasis on quality and reliability found throughout Tsakiridis Devices products.

Ten Power Outlets for a Complete Audio System

The Super Athena power conditioner provides a total of ten mains outlets, allowing an entire hi-fi system to be connected to a single power-management component.

• 2 Direct Line Outlets for components where unrestricted direct mains connection is preferred
• 4 Filtered Outlets using the mains filtering section
• 4 Filtered and Isolated Outlets supplied through the isolation transformer

This arrangement makes it possible to choose the most appropriate power treatment for each component rather than applying the same type of conditioning to every device in the system.

Power Factor Correction

Super Athena also incorporates power factor correction. This circuit is designed to optimize the relationship between voltage and current drawn by the connected system.

According to Tsakiridis Devices, power factor correction also helps reduce parasitic harmonic content present in the DC power supplies of connected audio equipment. The objective is cleaner electrical operation and improved overall system performance.

Surge and Overvoltage Protection

Power conditioning is not only about sound quality. The Tsakiridis Devices Super Athena also provides protection against dangerous mains conditions, including overvoltage and voltage surges.

This offers an additional layer of protection for valuable amplifiers, source components and other sensitive electronics connected to the system.

Real-Time Power Monitoring

An informative front-panel display provides real-time information about the incoming and consumed mains power.

The display allows the user to monitor important electrical parameters including:

• Voltage
• Current
• Power consumption in watts
• Power factor

This makes Super Athena more than a passive power distributor. It also becomes a useful diagnostic tool for understanding how the audio system behaves electrically during normal operation and demanding listening sessions.

Bluetooth Monitoring and Android Application

Super Athena incorporates a Bluetooth data transmitter that allows compatible Android devices to communicate with the power conditioner.

Through the Tsakiridis Devices application, the user can monitor power parameters remotely and evaluate the behaviour of the connected audio system over time.

Independent Listening Impressions

An independent review by Greek audio publication hxosplus highlighted one of the most important aspects of the Super Athena design: its ability to filter mains noise without producing the dynamic compression sometimes associated with power conditioners.

During listening tests, the reviewer reported a noticeably lower noise floor, improved body and stronger subjective dynamics, particularly in vocals and bass reproduction. The review also emphasized that returning to an unconditioned mains connection made the increase in background noise clearly noticeable.

These observations underline the philosophy behind the Super Athena: power treatment should improve electrical cleanliness while allowing amplifiers to retain their ability to respond quickly to musical transients.

Handcrafted in Greece

Tsakiridis Devices has produced high-end audio electronics in Greece since 1989. The company focuses on handcrafted construction, carefully selected components and strong price-to-performance value.

The Super Athena follows the same philosophy, using a handmade isolation transformer and power choke together with high-grade polypropylene filtering capacitors and heavy-duty internal construction.

Built for Complete High-End Audio Systems

The combination of direct, filtered and isolated outlets makes the Tsakiridis Devices Super Athena suitable for complete systems rather than just individual components.

High-current amplifiers can be connected where maximum instantaneous current delivery is required, while DACs, streamers, phono stages and other sensitive source components can benefit from the isolated power section.
