Description

The Concept

In order to reproduce the delicate and informative music signal of MC cartridge, it must first be boosted to the level as same as MM level. Although there are amplifiers that use electrical circuits as a method of achieving this, But Phasemation’s first suggestion is to use a transformer to boost the level. This is because, in addition to ideal impedance matching, it has no power supply, so there is no source of noise, which is a major advantage. The T-550 was the best-selling model in the Phasemation lineup of step-up transformers. The sound of T-550 has been further brushed up and the T-600 has been newly designed for ease of use.

Main Features

• Improved Sound Quality: The T-600 is the successor to the T-550, featuring a new, high-performance transformer. The manufacturing process was thoroughly reviewed, with precise wire tension control used during winding to give the transformer greater expressive power.
• Flexible Inputs and Outputs: Each input and output includes both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) terminals. The T-600 uses Neutrik XLR connectors and gold-plated RCA terminals for superior sound. Unlike its predecessor, the T-600 allows you to select between balanced and unbalanced inputs.
• “PASS” Mode for Versatility: The T-600 now supports MM cartridges in addition to MC cartridges. By pre-connecting an MM cartridge and selecting “PASS” on the input selector, you can use it without changing connections. This mode also accommodates high-output MC cartridges that don’t require a step-up.
• Optimized Chassis and Layout: The compact chassis is designed to transmit pure audio signals. It features a shield cover to suppress magnetic flux leakage and a floating structure with damping rubber to minimize unwanted vibrations.
• High-Quality Components: To ensure clear and precise playback, the circuit length is kept as short as possible. The rotary switch for the balanced/unbalanced/PASS selector uses gold-plated contacts, and all connectors are gold-plated for fresh and pure sound reproduction.

Updates

• Balanced/unbalanced input can now be selected.
• The step-up transformer, which previously could only be connected to MC cartridges, now has a “PASS” mode that allows connection of MM and high-output level MC cartridges as well.
• XLR output terminals have been added, making it possible to connect even to amplifiers with only XLR inputs.

1. Enables optimal volume adjustment between the preamplifier and power amplifier.
2. The “Easy listening“ by LT-1000 is achieved by eliminating unnecessary high- and low-frequency noise between the lines.
3. This allows connection between devices equipped only with XLR jacks and those with only RCA pin jacks, and vice versa.
4. Simultaneous output to two power amplifiers is supported, with one balanced and one unbalanced system.
