Description
LAiV Harmony DAC 2 – Fully Balanced Discrete R2R DAC
The LAiV Harmony DAC 2 takes the original Harmony concept further, preserving LAiV’s fully balanced discrete R2R ladder architecture while introducing a new Class A output stage, direct 10MHz clock input, advanced PCM processing and full digital isolation.

The Same R2R Heart, Evolved
At the core of the LAiV Harmony DAC 2 remains the fully balanced discrete precision-matched R2R ladder architecture that established the original Harmony DAC.
The second generation develops everything around that conversion platform, improving connectivity, output drive and system integration while preserving LAiV’s core digital philosophy.
Discrete Class A Output Buffer
A newly developed discrete Class A output buffer allows the balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs to operate simultaneously.
The low output impedance helps isolate the R2R ladder from downstream loads, allowing the DAC to maintain consistent performance when connected to integrated amplifiers, preamplifiers or multiple systems.

Direct 10MHz Master Clock Input
The LAiV Harmony DAC 2 accepts a 10MHz external master clock directly through a 50Ω BNC connection.
No external DDC or I2S routing is required, making precision clock integration significantly simpler than with the original Harmony DAC.
Full Digital Isolation
Complete digital isolation is placed between the input and output stages, helping prevent ground noise, USB bus interference and upstream electrical noise from reaching the analogue conversion section.
The goal is a quieter electrical environment and improved preservation of fine low-level information.

A New 960 × 400 Colour Display
The previous grayscale OLED has been replaced by a 960 × 400 TFT colour LCD with refreshed graphics for clearer viewing of input, conversion mode and sample rate.
The DAC 2 also adds 12V trigger input and output together with dedicated USB-C firmware updating.
Choose Your PCM Conversion
The Harmony DAC 2 offers three PCM operating modes: NOS, LAiV’s proprietary oversampling mode and a dedicated hardware SRC stage.
This allows the listener to choose the processing approach that best complements the recording and the rest of the system. DSD is converted directly to multi-bit before being processed by the R2R ladder.
Built for Flexible High-End Systems
The LAiV Harmony DAC 2 is designed to integrate easily into a wide range of digital audio systems, from compact desktop installations to full-scale reference systems. Its simultaneous XLR and RCA outputs make it possible to connect multiple downstream components without compromising signal integrity.
Combined with selectable PCM processing, direct external clock support and full digital isolation, the DAC 2 offers a high degree of flexibility for listeners who want to fine-tune their digital playback chain while keeping the system architecture simple and elegant.
