Product Features

  • A fully symmetrical amplification stage is implemented using high-quality complementary J-FET transistors in the input section.
  • The copper plates of the 350 mm² cross-section installed in the Virtus S1S are designed for heat dissipation without using heat-conducting washers, making the heat dissipation design from the power transistors highly effective.
  • The copper plates designed for heat dissipation also supply voltage from the high-capacity capacitors to the active components. That helps transform the dynamics peaks from the capacitors directly to the speakers reducing the output impedance.
  • Ultra-low distortion of 0.006 % / 1 kHz, 5 W.
  • Error correction is used to linearize each amplification stage individually. It involves applying local feedback to correct the signal provided by the swing stages of the VAS. This helps to prevent transient distortion from occurring in the first place, rather than relying on overall feedback to suppress it. Ideally, this results in a weaker overall feedback circuit compared to one without error correction.
  • Virtus S1S features 5 pairs of output transistors per channel, with matched parameters to ensure uniform load on individual components.
  • High damping factor and ultra-low output impedance.
  • Virtus S1S features power and signal sections that are mechanically separated with 10 mm thick aluminum shielding.

Highlights

Canor S1S circuitry 1

Dual-Mono Configuration

This design provides exceptional channel separation and minimizes crosstalk, resulting in an ultra-clear stereo experience characterized by superior spatial quality. By isolating the circuitry for each channel, the system maximizes audio fidelity, clarity, and precision, thereby delivering an immersive listening experience.

Heat dissipation

The heat generated by the power transistors is effectively dissipated through the use of copper plates to which the transistors are directly attached. This allows for rapid and efficient transfer of heat away from the critical power components. This approach not only prevents overheating but also enhances the overall performance and reliability of the system by ensuring that the transistors remain within optimal operating temperatures.

High Filtration Capacity

The amplifier is equipped with a high-capacity filter that stabilizes the supply voltage at its output stages, allowing it to manage and smooth out any dynamic spikes that may occur. This ensures a consistent and ripple-free performance, which is crucial for delivering clear and distortion-free audio signals.

XLR & RCA Input

The VIRTUS S1S is designed to accommodate a variety of audio input configurations, featuring support for both balanced and unbalanced connections. It includes one pair of XLR inputs, along with an additional pair of RCA inputs, allowing for versatile connectivity options to suit the user’s audio needs.

Transistor Powering

Power transistors are powered through a copper plate featuring a cross-section of up to 350 mm². This innovative design significantly minimizes the internal resistance of the power source, resulting in remarkable improvements in the dynamics of the amplifier. By effectively managing conductivity, this configuration allows for smoother and more efficient energy transfer, ultimately enhancing the overall performance and responsiveness of the amplifier system.
