DESIGN / APPEARANCE:

The Olympia is impressive – an amplifier with an elegant, minimalist enclosure, with ample space for the tubes, which immediately attract attention. The materials used are high-quality, and the metal construction of the enclosure ensures durability and stability. Although the amplifier is not among the smallest, its size is fully justified by the power and capabilities it offers.

According to the official description from fezzaudio.com, the Olympia EVO is an advanced integrated tube amplifier, designed in a Dual Mono configuration. Based on eight KT88 + 2x 12AX7 + 2x 12AU7 tubes in push-pull technology, the device offers exceptional sonic purity, high power, and high-precision sound reproduction.

The amplifier is equipped with all key functions, ensuring user convenience and flexibility. The new remote control allows for volume adjustment, source selection, and powering the device on and off. A standby mode and a two-minute pre-heating cycle are also available, ensuring optimal operating conditions and extending tube life.

An additional expansion card slot allows you to expand the device’s functionality with new modules. A Bluetooth module, an MM phono preamplifier, and a DAC with a Toslink input are available, but the offering will soon expand to include a DAC with a USB input, an additional RCA input, and an additional XLR input. All of this will be very easy to install and will require virtually no technical experience. A redesigned electronic power tube protection system eliminates the need for traditional fuses, offering higher reliability and more effective circuit protection.

The automatic bias control and correction system (Auto-Bias) ensures optimal amplifier performance, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.

The Fezz Olympia EVO is a harmonious blend of classic tube technology with modern electronic solutions, offering complete user comfort.

SOUND:

In terms of sound, the Olympia is a tube amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking detail, harmony, and perfectly controlled bass. Its sonic character can be described as “modern tube”—a perhaps unusual term, but one that perfectly captures the essence of its sound.

What does this mean in practice? All frequency ranges are precise, dynamic, and well-rounded, while retaining the characteristic listening pleasure and delicate, musical “warmth” of tubes. The low frequencies are soft, deep, and well-controlled, without excessive dominance. The highs, however, remain smooth, balanced, and free of unpleasant sibilance. The overall effect is complemented by an impressive depth of sound.

The midrange is definitely this amplifier’s strongest point—natural, three-dimensional, and full of emotion. It is in this range that the Olympia captivates, especially with vocal and acoustic recordings, transporting the listener to the very center of the musical scene.

We heard all these aspects of sound best when we reached for our latest vinyl purchases from Stockfisch Records. We all know that the production of these albums – such as Allan Taylor’s “The Road Well Traveled” – is of exceptionally high standard. These recordings are meticulously crafted, with excellent dynamics and a clear emphasis on the extremes of the frequency range.

Thanks to the Olympia amplifier, we were able to fully appreciate these audiophile qualities – the device faithfully conveys what the musician and sound engineers intended to convey to the listener.

It’s also significant that we’re increasingly reaching for vinyl. This is thanks to the excellent J. Sikora Aspire turntable, which allows us to rediscover well-known albums, revealing their sound with depth and naturalness.

While listening to Katja Werker’s “Contact Myself 2.0,” the midrange was once again a delight – full, spacious, and simply three-dimensional. The Olympia plays with incredible refinement and doesn’t tire even during long listening sessions, offering extraordinary musicality and emotional impact.

Interestingly, we achieved all these impressions using the factory tubes! However, the manufacturer, Fezz Audio, offers the option of upgrading them to higher-end ones – opening up further possibilities for even more demanding music lovers.

In terms of spatiality, the Olympia is a truly excellent choice. The soundstage is wide, orderly, and natural, and the instrument placement is precise and realistic. The detail and vividness of the sound are definite strengths of this amplifier. In well-produced recordings, the impression of spatiality can be truly stunning.

For a tube-based design, the Olympia boasts surprisingly high power and efficiency, allowing it to drive most loudspeakers. Of course, to fully utilize its potential, it’s worth pairing it with higher-efficiency speakers – then the sound gains complete freedom and dynamics. The amplifier maintains excellent sonic control without sacrificing the subtlety and elegance of its tube-like sound.

SUMMARY:

The Fezz Audio Olympia is an amplifier that combines classic tube technology with a modern approach to audiophile needs. In our opinion, it’s one of the best-sounding devices from the Polish manufacturer, and it’s also fairly priced. Its sound is full, warm, spacious, and detailed, making it worth considering for anyone looking for high-quality audio equipment. However, it’s worth remembering that this device requires the user to take certain care of the tubes and meet certain requirements, such as a longer (2-minute) run-in period and a 20-minute wait for the tubes to reach their full performance. However, for those who appreciate the authenticity of tube sound, the Olympia is a choice that will certainly meet expectations.
