The State of the Art “Orchestra” Floorstanding Loudspeakers – Sigma Acoustics Orchestra 2.9

The project was born following the success of the MAAT series to meet the increasing demands of customers to find in the catalog a loudspeaker with high performance and sensitivity but also suitable for domestic environments with cubes lower than those required for MAAT.

From the first results, the target was hit.
Now the Orchestra speaker series has its own completeness. We can offer three sound tones with two or three possible speakers for every listening environment need and easy interfacing with amplifications

Drivers

The combination of sounds between the drivers used in the Orchestra is refined and unique, all to achieve consistent “sound”
times and “silence” times from the low frequencies to the subtlest harmonics of the highest tones.

The Heil TW, better known as the Air Motion Transformer, is recognized as one of the best high-frequency drivers of all time. The greater speed with which it creates sound and the speed with which it returns to silence are unmatched, giving a sense of clarity and naturalness to the sounds and their harmonics.

The bipolar emission enhances three-dimensionality and the sensation of having the music and its performers before us.

The ultra-lightweight, new-technology carbon fiber midrange driver with ultra-powerful magnets to control the damping factor (silence) consistently with the tweeter’s timing, tuned in a dedicated cabinet, releases midrange harmonics and reverberations through the slots and S-shaped vents in the rear of the cabinet along with the sounds of the AMT.

The latest generation handcrafted woofer is tuned in the special cabinet to tune and harmonize low and very low frequencies up to the limits of audibility.

The sound power station

The crossover, hidden, artisanal, simple, sometimes banal…
Because it was created based on the chosen drivers, and they are chosen for the type of crossover.

The crossover is an active component of the sound, not a divider or speaker protection.
Talking about research and design technologies for a first-order crossover may seem like an overstatement.

But giving a 6dB per octave first-order crossover, a system that has always been preferred in our crossovers, sound and character to a speaker that uses “complicated” drivers required research, time, and passion.

The beating electrical heart of the system sits between the amplifier “control” and the “executors” or “drivers” that create the sound through their membranes.

Phase, impedance curves, and frequency response are analyzed and chosen by working simultaneously on sound and analysis thanks to the analysis system created at the beginning of Extreme Audio, which has always generated discoveries of what is sound and what is annoying.

Passion and the pursuit of the “best” in “emotion” have led to a wide variety of crossover components, from the finest Carta Olio to the highest-quality, latest-generation polypropylene, and ultra-low-loss inductors, each compatible and synergistic with a specific sound design.

All of this is transmitted to the drivers via cables, the “arteries” of the beating heart that provide the right timing. Namely, White Gold and the LTI patent.

Who more than us has seen the creation of cables and conductors in synergy with crossover and driver designs?
No component is secondary when seeking an absolute result.

The Speaker Cabin

A perfect fusion of aesthetic forms and pure sound, with diagonal grooves and curves distributing the energy emitted by the drivers.

Plywood and high-density MDF of varying thicknesses, each serving to absorb vibrations or act as resonators for sound hotspots, intersect in the Orchestra design.
Built entirely in Italy by the finest Venetian cabinetmakers and finished with high-gloss lacquers.

The Finish

They can be made from rosewood, walnut, ebony, cherry, and oak.

The front and back panels can be requested in thick, finely crafted leather as an alternative to classic matte black and hand-brushed glossy black lacquer with a mirror effect.
